Nice. Just in time since it's crazy hot outside! Should I bring the hot pockets and lasagna entrees?

just wondering what the prop of choice is on a 98 twin step zx single engine 780 horse.having some porposing action starting in the high 70s and carrying through to the mid 80s so bad that i have to back off.its carrying the bow nice but seems to have a rep for way to much stern lift.3 blades will spin bravo and hydro 4s will lift the stern.any one ever dialed this hull in with power and formed the perfect set up.ps i tryed post it the question but i dont know how so i searched old posts to find some one who i thought may know.and i found you guys so????????????????

I run a 1999 26 ZX twin step with over 900 hp. My running surface is pretty much the same as the older 27-28 twin step when measuring the steps and pad. Some of the older twin step singles have a lower strake after the last step. Last real texan has one of those. We have swapped boats and they run pretty similar. His planes better but mine has less less hop in the higher 70's.

I run a standard IMCO lower but my X is higher so the effect is similar. We both run 4 blade Bravo's. I spin a 32" and he spins a 30" (I am pretty sure). 3 blades have been tried but it gets kind of crazy.

You need the prop centerline somewhere around 4-5" below the pad. Higher is not really better as you get prop slap and some other problems.

I would suggest playing with an IMCO shorty if you are deep and maybe some bigger tabs. I would imagine that you have full hydraulic steering. If not get it.

Mine runs very well to 85. You can drop the tabs a little and run in some cross chop at that speed. My best is 103 mph. That is a balancing act of tabs, trim and having the balls to stay into it. Run tabs around level above 85 and start bringing the nose up as you feed in power. It will stay balanced until you hit a side wake and then look out. At 90+ running on glass feels like you have a bunch of marbles under the hull. Much over 90 and you are concentrating on the trim, tabs and power combo and can't really watch the gauges. It gets kind of wild.
