My '86 22c has thru hull water intake. The Bravo has a nosecone (It looks like Hydromotive).
The lower can use some new paint and nose cone needs better body work.

Should I just cover the lower's water intakes and blend the nosecone in ?

No.
The upper gear case still needs the water flow for cooling.
Even w/a shower, it would still get hot.
Just don't use a water hose in the bell housing.
Oh yeah.
Use a block off plate on the inside of the transom.

Thanks gcarter. Who ever put on the nosecone just filled it with epoxy and pushed it on.

It's really not hard to make it right....

George, your answer makes sense, but just wondering why most Imco lowers do not have water pickups and dont have issues with running too hot.

Like Fixx said, Imcos DO have water pick-ups. AFAIK nosecones are always attached with a resin; My outboard cone was.

Thanks, I never noticed the ones under the nose.

Yea, the nosecone is glued on with some resin, epoxy or poly. But whoever
did the work was no bodyshop person !!

I'm thinking a satin silver finish on the lower.
