Enjoy everyone..... What a ride! Should do about 73-74 MPH. It really sounds unreal and sets you in the seat! Click on a picture to open it and click on it again to make it larger. These have huge detail. Great camera!!!

One hell of a nice resotoration (re-incarnation is probably a better word)!!

I remember the well worn state of this boat from pics on John Garbino's (sp?) website, and then when it was for sale again by the second owner. Now it looks brand new.

Top notch work that shows the value of a patient approach. Long may it run.

Awesome.
Having seen the "Pumpkin" in person, I can only imagine how well this boat is put together.

(Prediction...it's only a matter of time before the dock line police are notifying you!)

I'm confused now, I thought this was the "The Ultimate" but then the "The Ultimate" was a V-drive. Guess I missed something along the way; two different boats?? Great job Scott.

And I though the pumpkin was good, you have done it again, I will be at the dust off with or without a boat, but will have some props to try if you like. That rig should get the best stuff available.

This is not "The Ultimate"...I wish...:boggled:. This is Paul Herzans Boat that we have been restoring for almost 3 years. "The Sting". Hope that helps.

My Hornet is a very, very long way from being done.

Is the one you pictured the same one Matty has listed on his list as the red/white project boat? IS that one for sale?

Parnell,
No its a totally different one. At this point we are trying to buy that one and save it. Not much of it there really. Guy wanted a lot of money in the begining but we are back and forth with trying to agree on a number. Here is a few more pictures.

Problem with most of these old Hornets is that all the hard to find hardware is missing. So you have to cast it from the right suff you have. I did a bunch of stuff for mine. Also we had a whole new ski locker made for "The Ultimate" when we did Pauls Boat. Those lockers are only for Bench Seat Hornets. So are the hatches.

It always amazes me when you see how trashed these great old Hornets end up. I wonder at what point the owners just stopped caring for them. Really glad there are a select few with the passion to bring them back to their former glory.

Yes he had several pieces from a friends collection he was helping to liquidate.

Very nice job on the sting! I am sure it is better than the day it left the factory! The pictures are motivating for me with my Hornet II project.
