I don't think they make them any more. They would add some mph to an 18, probably 3-4 on this boat. I had a neighbor in NH on the same lake with the same boat. His had the jack, mine didn't. He would smoke me every time. Problem nowadays would be getting parts for it. I understand they are hard to come by, especially the shift cable, hard to find and expensive. Seals and such should be easy to find.

If I was to get this boat, I would remove the jack and sell it, put the money elsewhere.

Yes, I know the marina. I kept my Sunrunner next door to this place.

After I sold the Sunrunner, I bought a 19' Checkmate with a 350/alpha. It was the Checkmate that my neighbor had that was the same. What a difference the jack made on that boat. I was amazed. Incidently, the lake I lived on in NH was just a couple of miles from Land&Sea, the manufacturer of the stern jack. If memory serves me correctly, they used to make a variable pitch prop, also.

you can contact lenny over on the .org site for his results with my old LE and the jack, I wanna say it was 10 mph gain?
