No longer amongst the unemployed after one year and one month I am finally back to work, can't get away from the boat stuff. An old friend owns one of the largest marine parts houses on Long Island, Bonnie noticed an ad for a counter person. I called him and that was that, I have been on the other side of his counter for many years. Now I am getting a trial by fire, I am now one of eight guys moving an unbelievable amount of stuff from 8 to 6 it is like a fire drill. Being a bum for a year it is kicking my butt a bit having to hit the deck running, but seeing all the guys I have worked with for most of my life wander in and out is kick. My azz is dragging but I am smiling!

Congrats. They advertise a lot on Ship Shape TV. Haven't used them yet but you give me an excuse to try for my next parts order:cool:

Good for you Phil, I guess. Figured you would be enjoying retirement by now. BTW, I got called back last month after being laid off for a year.

Congratulations, Phil. You probably feel like you just got on a wild ride at an amusement park -:nilly:, but you will likely get used to the pace very quickly - Bill

Congratulations, Phil. With your background and knowledge it seems like this job is a perfect fit. Whenever I am shopping for anything technical, I always seek out the salesguy with the most "experienced" look, if you know what I mean!

Now, I've gotta go back and re-read your post...seems like you mentioned Bonnie is complaining that your body is tired of "walking the dog".
