Here are a couple more parts that I could sell. The power steering came off my 1985 Eliminator with a 280T outdrive, but it should fit quite a few models - it worked fine when I changed over to a Bravo setup. The 250 cover plate came off my 1971 Donzi. How about $55 for the shifter cover (needs paint, but a very good condition piece) with shipping included to anywhere in the continental US? The power steering unit is fairly heavy. How about $195 with shipping included to anywhere in the continental US? You can contact me at Dgill25960@aol.com or call me at 903/786-6281. Bill

Bill, I just have the original cable steering on my 18. Would this be a significant improvement?

Sorry, but no need for the 250 plate. I'll ask around, though.

Hope all is going well!

It is night and day difference under way. Unlike a car, boat steering is fairly easy at idle or slow speeds, but power steering comes into play when cruising or fast speeds - especially turning. If you have steering torque at cruise, power steering takes virtually all the effort out of the steering wheel. You would need to mount a power steering pump and the associated lines - the high pressure line and return line. I could include a GM PS pump for an additional $35, but you can get them at any automotive store. It has been too many years ago that I switched to a Bravo setup on the boat that had this Volvo Penta PS setup so it would be up to the buyer to figure out the necessary mounting arrangement. Take care, Bill

Bill - I'm interested in the PS unit - - is it an 1985?

The 23' Eliminator Daytona that it came on is a 1985 model, so I have to presume the PS is a 1985 since the Volvo Penta drive was new when originally installed on the boat. Bill

John, go for it. While I think this would be a good add-on for mine, I think I'll wait a bit.

Bill, thanks for the info.
