22zx Sea Strainer help

Hi guys,,,looking for the best mounting spot for a sea strainer on a 2004 22zx. Any info or pics would be a huge help! Looking at purchasing a Perko model with the freshwater flush adapter.

Tough question all setups are bit different, the biggest thing to me is careful routing from the transom shield to the strainer. It is easier then you might think to break the fitting, I put the hose on the fitting then placed the strainer for easy no strain hookup. Make sure the top of the strainer is about an inch above the water line with you back by it.

On my 22C, I´ve put the sea strainer on to the partition wall like on the attached picture. On this location you can handle (clean) the strainer easily. The waterpump manages the longer way of the hoses perfect.

I was recently asked again about my sea strainer and where it was mounted ('06 22ZX) and I took some pictures and posted them, somewhere on the last few pages of that thread. (Note: see page 13 of my thread for the pix. Discussion of the installation begins back on page 12.)

The thread also talks early on about the installation by the dealer when the boat was new.
