Well, Had some free time in the shop, and did a few upgrades. Mounted the shorty, and installed the GPS Speedo.

Pics are a little crappy, but it's a camera phone. :bonk:

Looking forward to memorial day weekend. :)

Thanks, lets just hope she runs :) Ran great before the install.

My boat is 1 year older than CarlC's with 76 hours on it total. But identical before he repowered it. Hoping to have the same results.

how does the color/style/etc compare between the two different brand gauges? just curious. they were pretty close for me, but I had the white standard SAE rim gauges.

I don't know if I beleive some of the numbers I see. I think 71 makes sense. With this prop at 4900 rpm. I think 74-76 mph with the shorty is doable.

I had 425lbs worth of passengers and probably close to that much fuel (full tank). I think with a quarter tank and just me, it could do more in stock form.

Empty and one person, you might be faster then you think :crossfing:

With the four blade thats about right (unless you get the four blade worked some), a three blade TXP or Mirage would get you 74 or 75 mph.....curious to see how the shorty works for ya....:yes:

very true. I took the M+ off and gave up some top end to gain a TON of stability.

I did try a txp, but it was slower than the M+ and I had to baby it out of the hole to not blow it out. When it did blow out, I would have to vitually stop the boat and try again to get it on plane.

I am running a 26 B1 and also found more stability -- not sure about the top end as I drive it more carefully-- I know I lost 1-200 rpm but not really sure about the speed.
Hope to have it in this weekend to try out the new steering-- damn work keeps getting in the way-- meetings all day and yet it is supposed to be 80' today!!!!! lift is in but needs leveling-sitting on a 25degree angle right now- hoping it gets done today.

Holy water pressure batman! Gotta get that relief valve in sooner then later.

Picked up 6mph on gps. Man does that thing float!

a quick update after a few more hours behind the wheel. The boat runs great. But it drives about the same, just faster on the top end.

It is a totally different animal though. If you don't want to relearn tabs and drive trim, don't swap!

what was your h2o pressure before and after the swap? I don't have a water pressure gauge and I left off the relief valve when I put my motor in last winter.
