I'm glad that I bought a new 38 last Saturday.
There is no way Americans will turn in their guns. There are over 300 million guns in the country. They will never get the genie back in the bottle. Look at the crimes statistics after Austrailia banned guns.

I personally don't think that this treaty will take away our 2ND AMENDMENT rights. I do think that it could affect it though. One reason I don't think it will affect us is here in Illinois we will finally be able to carry firearms with in a year or two. Its going through the supreme court right now.

I have read about this "backdoor" approach to gun control before. It is difficult to believe that things like this can happen, but I suppose it could. I believe there would be a revolution if it does happen. :nilly: Bill

All Firearms, what's going to happen to all those little towns that relay on all the hunters? Its going to crush them, i know for a fact that the state of wi relays on wild game hunters to support their families for their services.

What next? They going to take our cars away too, they kill people to...

Can't happen - Hillary or Obama can't approve a treaty.

It requires 67 votes within the Senate for ratification

Not that I have a great love of authority or the government, but I have to think this is a bit of scare-mongering. The government can get away with an awful lot of stuff, but getting something that big past the NRA and other 2nd amendment watch-dogs would be the move of the century!

Hopefully the NRA will keep them from going further with that nonsense.. My recommendation to others is join the NRA if you want to keep your guns.. They could use the help to keep helping us.. ;) J

Be very careful using them as a source for this type of thing. Factcheck.org is a liberal owned/financed group that has demonstrated that they absolutely can't be trusted for anything that is even remotely political in nature. They spin their political answers way more than snopes, to the point of carefully selecting sources that support their position.
