This is how it came from the factory. Don't even think about trying to add one on now

what are the screws across the deck for? not the cockpit cover snaps, forward of them.

those would be in just about the spot where the fasteners would live for a factory installed older style windshield.

I also seem to recall a few years back someone with that color scheme and era 18 putting a newer style windshield on it, possibly that boat with it removed???

I might stand corrected  ... Good eye, Vette. I would still say that it's better as-is than trying to put a newer-style windshield on it. If an original 1968 is floating around, then by all means re-attach it.

I was truly curious. I thought the original question was because of them, but then you know the old boats much better than I do so I was (and still am) curious.

Absolutely love this boat. yellow/black looks so good. not necessarily a Florida interior though.

Good luck with the sale...

No disrespect to the deal...and not really any of my business when it comes right down to it, but I don't think the price is steep. This is a very rare boat that is in beautiful condition with ~450 hours on it. They don't come much better than that.

Hope it works out for the both of you, and then we'll have another member in the 40+ year old boat club!

Fantastic boat! Fair price, too...

Do you guys think it's a '68, though? I thought pre-70's were barrel-backs... This boat is identical to my '70, even down to the little details. This boat has nicer gelcoat than mine...:frown:

'68 is about right - metal script logo, right decals, hull #, 302 etc. Probably one of the first non-barrel backs.

My 1967 is # 18-197 and is a barrelback. This one could be one of the first of the newer series. Here is a shot of my #1 mechanic, Howard O, fixing something for me. We just got her back in the water and she is purring like a kitten. That Holman and Moody 289 is the sweetest motor going. Tom
PS: I think that is a very fair price for that fresh water 2 owner boat.

the boat is in Holland, still winterized and under a tarp in the barn.

Guess what. That Girl offered me 10,000.00 for my GT-21 . I was asking $15,0000.00 but decided to accept his offer as I had a stroke and ony used the boat about twice a year. He had me investigate haulage from Canada to Florida, and the tax situation. He indicated we had a deal but when I asked for a deposit and his address and phone number he disappeared and I have not heard from him since. That same night I thought we had completed our deal I noticed he had made a low Ball offer of $8000.00 on this 18. What's going on? I think we should all stick to our asking prices and stop this. John.
