Is it possible to leave the gimbal housing in, and with the lower and upper units out, replace the U-joint bellows? Can you compress it, and slip the forward end on, then pull it back onto the gimbal? Or do you just pull the gimbal and be done with it....

I did mine with the drive removed and the gimbal still on the boat.
