The Hornet (454 TRS) is running well. My only problem is belts. Just received new SS Hardin pump, bracket and billet pulleys. As the water pump looked a little skewed I hope this will help. Problem is the new pump has no directions! I notice a bung on the pump. Should I prime this before running?
I also installed a Hydromotive nosecone and am very pleased with the result.

Just dump it in the water, it'll prime itself.

Better watch your belt alignment though. If it's off, it'll eat belts.

What changed with regard to performance with the nosecone installation?

What does "A little skewed" mean. more detail please.

there are 2 styles of water pumps. short and long. there is an inch and a half or so of difference so it would be pretty skewed.

Thank you for the feedback. There are not many I/O boats here so I really appreciate the advice.
The RWP pulley seemed a little off, canted, not off center, so I bought a new bracket as well, will let you know how it works out, still waiting for the other billet pulleys to arrive.
The nosecone seems to help a lot, I can trim higher and spin my 26 mirage prop at 5600 rpm. I have not put the GPS on it yet but have raced and beaten everything in town! Feels like 200!
All the best,
Eric
