I stopped by my upholstry guy and the was a 98 22 Black Hawk in there. Wow that's an imprerssive lower unit. Can it be interchanged with Bravo 1, it looks shorter. We had a Yamaha-TRP on our flats rig and it really gives an amazing hole-shot, and had plenty of top end.

Who is your Upholstery guy in League City? I highly recommend Gary DeGeorge at Clear Lake Auto Upholstery there on Hwy 3. But he wants to retire and not take on any large jobs, like boat interior.

I have the 95' Blackhawk LE there in Dickinson.

Can-do-upholstry, Darrel, they do the work for Tops & Towers. He's making me covers for my trailer guide poles.281-332-0962.

1998 BH has to be a rare beast. what color is it?

Yes, the BH drive can be swapped for a Bravo. They are 7 inches shorter.

There were quite a few BH swapped out for Bravo drives. Most people will tell you the BH is the scariest boat they have ever driven.

NO WAY JOE. :bonk: I got Creamed awhile back for suggesting such a thing. SCARY..??...no more so than a Bayliner...with a Bimini. :lookaroun: :lookaroun: :lookaroun:

I can't remember the name of the guy that like the BH drives, but the list is very short. I met a guy at the Home Town Rally a few years ago that was scared to death of his BH.

MOP liked the BH. ...and even though I never met the man he has earned my trust.

I've met him and he must have a bigger set than I have. My Formula had surface drives, and that was as hairy as I would get. I had an 14 foot Checkmate with a 90 Merc that scared the bejeesus out of me!

If you do not know how to drive/operate a Blackhawk, it can be scary. But, if you know how to drive a Blackhawk, it is a very good handling machine. Mine handles great.

Same thing with my surface drives. First time I dropped the tabs, the boat turned sharply and I almost t-bone a sailboat in the middle of Tampa Bay. I never touched the tabs after that.
