Just installed a set of the clamp on mufflers, wondering if anyone is running these? Trying to get it down to 88Db so I don't get any more tickets.

Gibson's guaranteed 88 db
plus Dapars reduces radiated sound energy up to 82%

Hey Joseph, whats was the db before and now with those dapars and whats the motor in your boat. I was looking at the dapars but I only have 11" of 4" exhaust hose on the 6.2L on my 02 18C. The dapar's are 12 long so they are to long. Rex has 5" inline mufflers but they are back ordered 2-3 weeks. So I bought a used set of drew shotguns on oso today to get me by for awhile:crossfing:. Anybody want to guess the db of my 6.2L with straight thru while we are talking mufflers on this thread.

It's a Mag 350. It's all theoretical,
Stock through the hull 140 db
The Certificate for the Gibson put it @88 db .
In NH for my year boat, "1988 Minx" is required to be @86 db
The dapars are up to 82 %, which should put it @ 72 db

They just barley fit in mine I had to take the tips off the transom to install them . Once they were in place, I put the tips back on.
They are line to line between the tips and the riser,

I had Dapars on my Minx

they worked real well

you can remove them easier by the removing exhaust elbows MUCH easier then removing the transom tips..

I'm very curious about this answer because mine with the Corsa muffler tips are very quiet. The twin 6.2's are much quieter than the single 350 I had in the Minx.

You had to ask and now I'm going to catch hell but this here is sweet music and how I like my boat to sound.

I'll keep them for the rare times i will use them and they are quality pieces and should bring you into compliance and they are easy to take on and off and the price is reasonable..BUT

They ruin the sound:shocking::nilly::yes:

So other than ruining the sound, do you have any other complaints? Also did you lose any power with them on?

I'll keep that in mind, in case I decide to upgrade the heads and intake:yes:

No, I would recommend them if you really need them. They won't fit slash cut tips though. I had to cut my tips. Oh, and I'm not always terrorizing Lake Oakland. I prefer the Great Lakes by far.
