I just bought a 1994 Donzi 16 and am waiting to get it delivered. I am curious to what the diameter of the railing around the cockpit is?

Thanks.

JEFF

I too will be interested to learn this.

My 1967 Ski-Sporter has a 7/8" diameter grab rail.

According to the story when Don designed the first classic "baby donzi" the passengers couldnt stay in the seats - they were rolling on the floor. The boat was so violent in its moton. So they added the famous railing around the cockpit. Many donzi passengers have been grateful for those railings to hang on to when the driver gets into that "white knuckle" mood and things get crazy.

the only difference in the newer grab rail and the older ones is the deck hardware.

the older ones had brackets that the rail was threaded thru, the new ones have spacers that the bolts go thru the rail and into the deck

the older ones had rail ends I don't think the newer ones did

I'll see if I can find pics

here is the older one
