very nice! I'm not in the market, but had to put in my two cents on your boat. Obviously I love the Donzi, but you did a heck of a job matching up that trailer. Good luck with the sale!

Thanks, all my toys have that special custom look, to make them my own, see attached photos of my rides.
Integrity Trailer Company does one hell of a job. You name it, they will do it for you, and at a resonable price. It is the same place Parnell has had his trailers built.

I'd like to say thanks to REDLINR AKA Dennis.
I called Dennis the other day to inquire about the trailer cover on his 18'. He told me that it was custom made by a local shop, and that they no longer had the patterns.
I really wasn't interested in towing my boat the 4 hours one way to the canvas shop . Since I have the same boat as Dennis he offered to take his boat back to the shop for new patterns. I spoke with the shop owner to discuss payment and shipping. Dennis then called the shop and made all the arrangements to take his boat over.
I was amazed by his kindness and willingness to help a fellow Donzi enthusiast. It's members such as Dennis that make this such a great web site. Anyone looking for a nice 18' can be assured that dealing with Dennis will be a good experience.

Good luck with the sale and thanks again !

To sweeten the deal, I can deliver the boat (within reason; ie, not to the west coast)
Also, the boat has a full tank of gas ( 40 gallons)
So, let's make a deal...

Took the Donzi out for a run, what a blast, out in Lake Michigan. Sure is a different ride than my 22ft Hacker Craft Woody.

Can't drive both boats at one time and our Summers are to short to use three boats.

This great boat needs a new home to be enjoyed...

PRICE REDUCED TO $14,900.00

Here are some pictures of the new Hacker Craft. It is a replica of a 1923 Gentleman's Racer, built in 1998 with modern construction methods (5200 expoxy) and power. She has a 460c.i. big block Ford @ 400 h.p.
I named her "OLD SCHOOL"
Hackers were built in Mt. Clemens, Mi from the 20's thru the 40's. They ran in the Gold Cup Races of that time, with v-12 Liberty aircraft engines, or V-12 Packer engines.

Absolutely gorgeous!!!!

Where did you get the name made? It looks like gold foil.

I'm in Grand Rapids.

REDLINR
09-01-2010, 02:22 PM
Hi there, yes it is vinyl gold leaf. alot cheaper than real stuff. I got a quote for just the transom name in real gold leaf, at $750.00.
It would not be that bad, except with a woodie, I will need to refinish/revarnish in a couple years if I get some nicks, etc, and then it is alot of money if I got to remove the real gold leaf each time..
The vinyl was only $125.00 for both the old scholl and class of 23 lettering, all installed by the Sign Factory in Grand Haven 616-844-4353.
You can't tell the difference from the real gold leaf. A word of caution, there are a couple of brands and thickness, go with the best at a little more cost, it does make a big difference in the final look.

we completed the deal March 21 and the new owner lives on a great inland lake that is just perfect for the 18 Classic. he lives on Cross Lake, in Shreveport, la, so any one out that way sees a red and white Donzi flying up and down the lake, that was mine...
thanks to all you guys who give me help and advice when needed, that is what makes this site so great.
Now i am off to several ACBS Classic boat shows this summer across the midwest and east coast. So if you see a Woody Hacker Craft Gentleman Racer with the number "G - 46" on her side and the name " OLD SCHOOL RACIN", give me a shout...

The Les Cheneaux Islands in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan has an annual show that is supposed to be a big one. Look for Hessel and Cedarville on your map, just east of the Mackinaw Bridge.

We attended that show last year and spent a week up there.

Another great show is in Traverse City, Mi. called " Boats on the Boardwalk". It is on the first Saturday in August, and then the following weekend is the Hessells, Mi Boat show.

If you like Woodies, these two shows are a must.

Hope to see you guys around on the lakes next summer...

I could see 936 miles. I live in FL and I can barely break 100. I think my record is about 200. Heck the Coast Guard I don't think does 936/yr. That is 117 days, 8 hours a day. I think somebody left the key on.
