yeah weird, Could it be that someone put valve covers on a ford that say chevrolet.
Guess it could be a really old rare block...look at the lift ring next to the distributor, very odd.

Buiz, its one of those chris craft set up's! the engine is in backwards, flywheel towards the front of the boat..

Nope' look you'll see the thermostat housing assy with hoses on the transom side, so the block is mounted in reverse and I imagine that the crank harmonic balancer is flanged to the drive coupler instead of the flywheel.

This boat has always caught my attention since i've been a member, when ever i've seen Marlin's original avatar posted i've commented to myself sweetest looking 18 ever.
Gotta love the stance of pic #-1 & 2

You are right
this is a 350Q
Chris Craft style set up
They did this and notched the stringers
to get the engine low
So the deck hatch has no scoop . . .

When I first got it no one knew what it was
Some old timer at my yard knew . . .

Thanks Walt !
That's the nicest compliment I have ever gotten.
Especially because it came from someone who knows Donzi
and has seen many!

Here are a few more photographs.

You're very welcome and there's something to be said about the forward deck contour of the X-18 that should have been continued on all the classic -18's, and your dark blue color scheme of the hull gives it a kickass look.

Its a bummer i'm not looking looking nor do I have the extra funds at this time for another garage trophy expecially when i'm only about 1 or 1-1/2 hr's up the Hudson from you it would have so tempting if I was.

All the best for a sucessfull sales transaction, but after all the years you've had it can you see yourself watching someone else pull it out of your driveway forever?
Ps, those are some killer pic's!
Best Regards,
Wal

Tom this boat is still for sale.
I am on the Hudson near the George Washington Bridge just miles north of New York City.
Give me a call or email your plans to see the boat.
