After waiting for 4 months I decided to do the dash board myself. It cost me a wopping $45.00 each !!! I paid $10.00 for the aluminum,$15.00 powercoating and $20.00 to get it lasered. Its easy if you have a jig saw and a hole saw.. Everyone I called wanted over $300.00 and this took me about an hour to do.

Thats one hellava great job and for pennies on the dollar as well, but you just blew a money making part time business by giving away your secret technic.
I bet most including myself would have tried having vinyl graphics made then clear coated over the lettering which would have cost more in money and time and not come out as nice or be as durable and long lasting as yours.

Ditto, how did you find somebody to do the lazer engraving?

Check the yellow pages for sign shops. A lot of those places do laser etching.

My Lazer was done by a large Trophy Shop here in Atlanta. Most any large trophy shops can do it and they also have the Donzi fonts. Here my finished dash getting ready to be installed.Don't get powercoating engraved ,as it will peel.Lazer is the only way and it looks great and it's cheap.

If I had only known....I spent $40 to have a couple sets of lables made for my dash last fall.

Looks great. I'm doing mine out of stainless steel as we speak. What font is the "donzi font"?

Your dash looks great! If the place laser etched the surface of the powder coated dash, how do they adjust for depth to keep from going through the powder coat? Bill

Quote Inferno: Don't get powder coating engraved ,as it will peel. Etch it first or it will peel! If you want colors coat it in the color you want then etch it then have it clear powder coated after-wards will last a life time if not nicked.
