Just as an aside, 2001 was the last year of the 502. The 496 seems to be a decent motor, but not as good a platform if you plan any big upgrades down the road. Also keep in mind that they have now disconntinued the 496, so it's a platform that probably won't see much more development in the future whereas the 'old' 454/502 is a war horse that has tons of power potential.
