Anyone have an opinion on what motor this might be? It is in a repo and no real info on it. Thanks.

If you buy it, one of the things you would want to do is to move the hose off the top of the water supply to the exhaust manifold bottoms.
Instant vapor lock possibility!

Need to loosen the forward carb fitting and rotate it up.

The exhaust Maiifolds and Elbows are Stock cast iron Mercruiser, on a small block Chevy 350. I just replaced mine last fall. John

I think that is at least a Gen V big block with maybe a bravo.....looks like a mech fuel pump on the sea pump and possibly stock cast iron big block manifolds because the risers are more towards one end of the lower on each of them...most risers on sbc are centered on the lowers.

However, those valve covers seem kind of small for bbc, but it could just be the picture and i'm sure Fix is probably right.

YUP. I think you're right. The elbows ARE off center on the manifolds. Small block manifolds are interchangable from left side of the motor to the right. John

same with a bbc:) their just offset..also looking at the intake it couls be a 502? looks like a team g to me,465hp or a 500hp painted black or just could be a 454.gen V will have a 8.2 on the side of the block..the only way to really tell is the casting #'s on the back of the block..

i wouldn't think its to radical bt the exhaust manifolds and it exiting a ypipe.

port side rear of block above bell housing app 11 o clock is where the #'s are..could be a 454 stroker motor..still hard to see the timing cover with it being all black..

Now saying it might have a roller top end and aluminum heads. At least I have a rough age. Thanks for the feedback.

I'd rather not say for the moment for fear of a lurker snapping it up before I can figure things out.
