600 cfm is to small for a 383,your going to tulip your valves..

I like the Edelbrocks. The marine 750 (1410) is only $329 at JEGs. They've always been plug and play for me.

Why over carburate? You may get an MPH or two on the top end with an oversize carb. But is it worth it?

Since the mixture velocity to the cylinders decreses as the carb size increases, fuel burining efficiency may decrease due to less than ideal fuel atomization and reduced cylinder filling at low RPMs. Because of this, your bottom-end and mid-range perfromance may suffer as well with an oversize carb.

Figure that a realistic Volumetric Efficiency (VE) for this engine is about 85% (0.85)
