Looks like I'm pulling the motor.....My mom put the boat outside over the winter to store some furniture in the garage. Well, at some point, she decided to unplug the heater in the bilge...

Long story short, aft freeze plugs were in the bilge, put new ones in, and fired it up on the hose for about 15 min....Oil looks like a milkshake.

Sooooo, looks like I'm in the market for a new BBF :frown::wrench:

Just had to rant

Sucks! Did you winterize by puting anti-freeze in the block? Or were relying on the heater alone?

Just the heater, because it was suppose to stay in the garage.....

But I think I lucked out. A friend of mine who's a boat mechanic has a freshly built 460 in his garage that he said he'll sell me for cheap. Now the fun part, getting all this done and ready in the next month or so :crossfing:

UUUUUMMMMMM didn't you have it sitting outside your house covered in snow a few months ago when i pointed out not to leave your drive up because in the up position with melting snow turning into water could crack the drive? or am i thinking of a differant member ?

heres the trend!http://www.donzi.net/forums/showthread.php?t=60770

Are you really sure that the block and, or heads are cracked?
I had a smilar milkshake oil problem several years back.
turned out to be iternally failed exhaust manifold risers.
Seemed hard to believe water in the exhaust ports could get into oil.
But it did!
Another area is in the intake manifold water cross-over.
If you have an engine oil cooler this is another area to check-out!
Did you drain your block & heads on both sides before the cold temps?
Is there any way to pressure test the basic block & heads ?

I'm going to change the oil and run it again on the muffs....maybe I'll get lucky.

Before you waste any more money on changing the oil...remove the hoses going to the exhaust manifolds and get some of the rite diameter hose and loop the hoses at the thermostat housing..remove the hose that supplies the engine with water and shove a garden hose onto it and clamp it..remove the oil cap and turn the garden hose on and listen for water entering the engine while monitoring the engines oil level via oil dipstick..
