looking into getting new HGE aluminum Manifolds and Risers how are they holding up ? I have a closed cooling system and flush it out after every use and put 30 - 40 hours on a year . I don't see that they have 3 inch but 4 inch. I have 3 inch now. I would have 2 convert it to 4 inch witch is not a problem b/c I'm having custom Z elbows made and would have 2 just get 4 inch tips. Is there any performance gains with the 4 inch ? Or should I just go with the heavy cast iron ?

I had not seen HGE before. I keep looking at GLM.

Aluminum is better than cast iron. Even with zero horsepower gains you lose many pounds in the rear of the boat. I wouldn't do Cast iron again for simple installation concerns. The cast iron stuff weighs so much they are literally hard to install.

what kind of power do you have now? I can't see why you wouldn't pick up a few HP from going to 4" regardless though.

I've looked into HGE and they're cheaper than GLM. I heard some had problems with GLM's not being machined flat and needed to be filed/sanded.
Hardin makes aluminum manifolds with stainless risers fairly resonable.

Stainless Marine makes nice stuff that works. Steve
