With all the conversations we've had about Barrell Back vs Newer 18s, and the various other hulls out there. I thought it might be interesting to have a look at the different bottoms each of the Donzi model's use. Let's see an example of each....

Here's my 1988 Z21 to start it off.
It is a 22.5 degree deadrise....

That last pic is a bit of an optical illusion....my hullside does not "bow" out like that at the bottom eek! .

So, dead rise is the angle the hull slopes upwards at from the transom?

Yes, Hyper. Its stated as an angle of one side of the hull, measured in reference to an imaginary line perpendicular to the keel where it meets the transom. You don't include any chine or strake measurements to this. Most newer offshore boats are in the 20 to 22 degree range. Most of the older donzis are 24, except the Hornet hull, which is 19 but has flared topsides.
