I like the ST9s by bennett as well. I am shopping as well. KPlanes are too big for our small boats. I would love the electric lencos to do away with pumps, hydraulics, fluid, etc but I have not seen any I like yet.

Have Bennetts on my 22, single ram. Work very well, never a problem.

My Father in Law has a Grady with Lencos. After 2 years one ram sh*t to bed. Called Lenco and they sent a new ram.

I don't know if it was out of warranty or not, but they did send a new one N/C.

For some reason I don't think Lenco would send "warranty parts" like Bennett does after 5 years or more.

Warranty alone, Bennetts are the only way to go.

Just took a set of Bennett tabs off of my 1999 22ZX and replaced them with Mercury K-planes. Have the exact set Donzi installed if you want them. I can tell you where Donzi installed them on the hull and where the control switch is installed and how it is drilled. Can also tell you where the pump in installed on the inside transom. Can tell you where the control transformer is installed under the dashboard and where they took up the power. Will include the factory literature that came with the boat. The Bennett system worked perfectly Tyler Crockett took them off and installed the K-planes after installing the 502MAG MPI engine.

Lenco has a new set of high performance tabs. I think they look pretty nice. I also like that you can adjust the base setting so you can make the tabs come way up when fully retracted.

On a smaller boat like a 22 I'd really consider the trolln' tabs so you can shut down the engine at idle speeds. Kinda fugly though.

Some times you can find a used set of K-plane 110s or 150s which are self contained.

The Lencos seem to respond faster than the Bennetts on my 22, but the boat they are on is smaller.

Could you explain a little about how your boat handles and performs? That is an awesome setup for a small Donzi! If there is a thread about it, please let me know. Bill

That is the infamous 1976 X18 Mighty Mouse. She is considered the best handling classic of all time and basically has set the bar. I posted links in the " video section"

I should have guessed that it was his boat. I thought you had rigged something like it. Highly cool ride! Bill

Mark,

If you want the used set of trim tabs off of my 22ZX you can have them for $100 plus shipping. I will provide the information about how Donzi installed them. You should be able to duplicate the factory job exactly.
