They say that with MS, the best exercise for your brain is to either learn a new language, or a new musical instrument. I already have two guitars, a sax, an organ, and a harmonica, but I can barely play the radio.

Anyway, I decided I either wanted to learn the trumpet, or the mandolin.
The mandolin won out. :)

Cool. Mandolins have a great sound. Gotta be a lot more fun to play than a trumpet.

Very nice.

Also learn to read upside down. Then place the book so you have to read top to bottom, them 180 it so it's bottom to top.

Here's another good ballad for you Joe showing the string action on a mandolin, and it takes me back to some good times during the late 70's while I was between wives.

Good times should repeat themselves.

Hey- Your in good company !
They are all great players.
Bill Monroe also !

BUT~

Tiny Tim was my all time favorite Mandolin player !
He really had an Act !
He was a triple threat, Mandolin, Ukulele, and sang falsetto too !

Let's see you try to beat that !

Send us all a web video when you learn Tip-Toe through the Tulips !

Or better yet:
Theme from the Godfather !

Keep up your Spirits ;-)

I saw Marshall Tucker at Tampa Stadium in the mid seventies. The Doobie Brothers were the main act, but Marshall Tucker stole the show.

I've been between wives for about 20 years now.

My neighbor across the street lent me a trumpet. It took me all of one evening to get a sound out of it!

I'm thinking steel guitar next. :)

Just for fun.

I've seen Leo Kottke twice, and will always be amazed. It sounds like there are several guitarists playing, but its just him. I have tremendous respect for someone who has such a career as a somewhat eclectic soloist, playing mostly his own music.

Andy McKee should be watched, just because.

I've seen Kottke twice as well--one of my all time favorites. The rambling stories alone are worth the price of admission.

I saw MT at Vetran's Stadium about 1980 with 38 special,Charlie Daniels and Little feet. How are you feeling? A friend of ours was recently diagnosed with MS. You once had a great Quote in your signature which I will never forget and is so true! Something like "A suitcase full of money beats a 40 footer tied to the Bank" Mandolin is a good choice but Spanish probably couldn"t hurt either these days.
