1987 22C. I'm considering having my seats re-covered. Ive heard good things about built-rite. Best bang for the buck?

I'm going back totally stock on the seats. Any ideas on prices?

Any suggestions?

PPI is expensive. If I remember right, over $2000 for the seats.

I had the minx redone at a shop in Homestead FL. Eddie had his 22 redone at a place in the keys called Key Largo Canvas.

If you go locally they can make the seats based on what you already have. I paid under 1000 for the seats in the Minx.

I got a complete interior from PPI last spring. Could not be happier, great quality, packaged correctly and easy to deal with.

As for price, I felt it was reasonable. I've found over and over that skimping on price ends up costing much more in the end as usually I'm so unhappy with my bargain deal that I've got to spend the real money to have it done right.

We do interiors inhouse. We do both stock replacement style & custom interiors. Pricing depends on what it is & what is getting done.. ;) Jamie / Lakeside

I'm just going back totally stock (2 front seats and 1 back, white interior/red piping for a 22C).

Do a search on http://marinecanvas.com for a local upholstery shop.

When I restored my 18 clone last year, I had my local marine upholsterer do the job. I had a good set of buckets fortunately, but absolutely no rear seat at all to work from. I am thrilled with the result (for less than a grand.) I don't know how far you are going with restoration, but I decided that the crazy "zillion snap" rear seat was not what I wanted in my boat. I filled all the holes from the snaps, then had my upholsterer build the rear seat with plastic "hardboard" backing (I don't remember actually what he called the stuff.) He cut it and formed it to fit my boat exactly. The two upholstered pieces now fit in tightly with velcro and are easy to remove to get to the batteries. Clean, clean look. I too can vouch for Ed's. He did some work on my 18c and it was perfect. Plus hes right down the street from me. He also restores old hondas.
