1987 Donzi 22 Classic
Mercury Racing HP 500
CMI Exhaust
Bravo 1
Latham Marine Full hydraulic steering
Gaffrig by Livorsi Gauges with red angled bezels
1" raised X dimension from the factory.
Clarion waterproof stereo mounted on the upper floor, front, passenger side. Also has remotes for easy access to change channel.
Powered subwoofer (on a switch so you can turn it off) and bose speakers.

Engine was bought from another member. It came out of a bigger Formula and the set was split... roughly 200 original hours were on the engine. Before installation it was mildly rebuilt with a new and upgraded cam (731), springs, lifters, etc. Also has Demon carb and Holley Electric Fuel pump. Currently has about 50 on the rebuild.

Boat is sitting on a South Florida Trailers aluminum trailer. Dual axle, aluminum wheels, disk brakes. Trailers perfect.

Boat is Red/white. 100% Awlgrip. A new gas tank was installed in 2009 and the stringers were fully inspected at that time. All checked out 100%.

Title in hand. Asking $20,000.

Boat was my brother's and I have known it since he took me for my first ride on it back in 1987. This is one of the best set up 22's ever built. there are ZERO negative aspects to handling. zero problems with porpoise, etc.

This is a truly awesome and wonderful boat. I've been in it for a long run on the intercoastal, and was very impressed. I hate to see it leave the Vette family, but I'm sure that a worthy owner will step up and grab it. Good luck with the sale and give my best to Eddie!

I am still around I am talking to two boats right now. What is funny is there was a boat for sale in Iowa exactly the same color and interior. They must of copied this boat. Please keep me in mind when you find one.

It's very unusual to see a 22 with Candy interior. I'd like to see the other one too.

I really like this one. The candy stripe seats, the custom carpet, the engine, new fuel tank, full steering and the price. If this boat looks as clean in person and has no major issues I would live with red. Pokster, you really need to rethink this. When looking used you will not find exactly what you want! This boat here is as good a deal as you will find. "We" will stop feeling bad for you if you keep turning away from boats like this one ;). Now go get it.....

The main cosmetic issue is the windshield. It needs new plexi because it is factory original to the boat... If anything it should say a lot about the way the boat was cared for because most plexi doesn't make it 20+ years.

Anyway, I'm not replacing it until it warms up. UPD makes it for $550. I am indecisive about replacing because so many people don't like the little flip up tabs but I love them. There are also a few colors to pick from.

So knowing that it needs a shield I can work that out with a prospective buyer.

I think that's the biggest attraction to that era. Everybody who has the eyebrows swears by them. I thought they stopped offering that so I was surprised to see an '04 with the 'brows a year or so ago.

Yes it is. He got it from me. It was one of trips on a 41 Formula. The guy was going to rebuild the HP 500's, but bought new 525's and new XR drives. He must have loved the boat. He spent more than the boat was worth. I got it from Dollar Marine. Catch 22 hooked me up with it.

I saw it on eBay...

eBay for a bit... Larry called me and we worked out a deal. Kind of pulled the trigger with him a bit fast, had a backup offer for $1k more but didn't want to re-neg on him. I think it is in good hands. I asked to be the first call when they sell it one day.

He is hanging in there. Everything turns around at some point and he's always got a good attitude so it will work out.

I had spoke to Tom about it a month or so ago, but I couldn't come up with the $. The shipping would have killed the deal for me. Glad its in good hands.

yep, shipping that far just kills it. I can't tell you how many cars/boats/etc. I see on the west coast that are deals if I had a magic shipping method. :bonk:

You can bet it is in great hands!

I'll have to get a picture up of it with its identical matching baby brother 18
