I am looking for a classic speed boat/ cruiser. Looking to just relax and have a good time. Speed is defiantly a plus but not a must. Gas ain't cheap. Want something I can buy and isn't in need of major work (engine, outdrive ext)

Looking to spend 0 to 17k

Im in seattle.
Alot of the boats are east coast and wondering what estimated shipping costs are?

million,

Donzis are a little hard to find out here on the west coast, but they are here if you look. I haven't done any digging around in the classifieds recently myself, but you might try one of the global craigslist search engines. The boats come up pretty regularly there.

I'm sure you are already, but just in case you aren't, be sure to keep an eye on all the regular sites like boattrader, yachtworld, ebay, etc. You can also watch some of the performance boating (but not Donzi specific) sights like off shore only, NW offshore, boatfreaks, and scream and fly.

Should you come across a boat in the SF Bay area and want a set of eyes on it before making the trip yourself drop me a line. I'm glad to help if I can. One of your Seattle brothers, (CaribouLou on this site) recently picked up a 22 Classic that needed some work here in the bay area.

You might also try to get in touch with some of the other PNW guys on this board. It's a small community, and if there are any boats for sale in BC, Washington, or Oregon, they'll probably know about them.

You didn't mention any particular model - anything in mind? Your description sounded like maybe you were looking for some comfort with some speed as opposed to speed with some comfort. To that end, I might suggest a Minx, 21 GT, Hornet, or even a 22 Classic. The smaller boats certainly have the speed and would be a blast to drive, but may sacrifice a bit on the comfort (cruising) side compared to the larger models I mentioned. That said, I'm really just shooting from the hip since I don't really know what you want, and I certainly recommend taking a look at any Donzi models you come across if only to familiarize yourself with them.

Lastly, I haven't shipped cross-country in a couple years but doing it on the cheap I'd recommend U-ship.com. Depending on the specifics, I'd expect to spend around $4000 to ship it.

doesnt have to be a northwest car, though preferred. I would get a boat cross country if its a steal of a deal.

Something a little rarer.

1966 Barrel Back 18. This boat has been for sale off/on for a while. From the pictures it looks like a very clean boat.

Of interest; tank has been replaced, trim was added to the drive, big block Chevy.

Ended up buying this sweet donzi 16 from Spokane. It a cool boat interior is clean but thinking of rejuvinating it with new interir as I believe this is a original putting the interior at 10 years old. What's that going to cost to get recovered?

Good stuff. Glad you found the right boat!

Just something to note, for anyone interested in the barrel back above, if you look closely you'll notice that it is a triple hatch. Very rare...only around 100 made in 1966, and I can't imagine many are still left running around.
