A quick google search has it looking like its a hacker. Lots of different ads, listed in different areas with different contact names. Would've been a sweet deal. I did use the contact form -- lets see if I get anything back.

This happens a lot on Craigslist with motorcycles. Someone will post some pictures they lifted from another ad, and offer the bike for pennies on the dollar. I have seen Harleys that were worth $9,500 being offered for $2,900, top-of-the-line Honda cruisers worth $18,000 for $4,000, etc., because of some hardship; moving out of the country, just went through a divorce, etc.

You start searching around and, find a very similar ad, with the same pictures showing up all over the country. Many times with bikes, the follow up email will say the deal is through ebay motors, who is taking care of the deal for them, including free shipping anywhere in the country, and a 14-day trial with a money back guarantee. Ebay doesn't do deals for non-ebay sales.

I thought the same thing about this boat when it was listed with a price that was well below market value.

There is certainly no shortage of scum-bags sitting around trying to figure out how to rip people off.
