Okay, Let's let the real game happen! Sucks we gave up our chance at a perfect season (even though I have been a Dolphins fan forever). But let's just get past the jets and then on to the superbowl (hope it goes that easy:kingme:)

My Eagles were blown-away two weeks in a row by the Cowboys ; who were knocked-out of the play-offs today.
My football season is now over !
We should never have cut Terrell Owens~
He has a big mouth & was poor team player with a poor attitude~
BUT at least he could catch a football !
The Eagles have not done anything since cutting him!

Well, not necessarily, they did get rid of a turd (owens) and picked up a piece of schit (vick)! Sorry about your Eagles though, I do like Andy Reid and that movie Invincible (one of my favorites).

I was, and still am steamed that the Eagles gave Mickael Vick a second chance. I do not believe he is at all sorry for his involvment in dog fighting/killing.
He also does not appreciate the Eagles & NFL for giving him a second chance.
He has made it clear that he is not happy here, and wants to be the #1 quarterback, and deserves much more money !
I suspect, and hope, he will not be here next year !
The Eagles need two new running backs & some receivers that can catch & hang-on to the football !
The Eagles are HOT & COLD.
They blow a good team out one week then are blown-out the next week.
I am a frustrated Eagles fan !

GO VIKINGS!!!
I'm from MN and tried to get local buddies of mine to bet me $100 bucks that the Vikes would win next week and make it to superbowl. Nobody wanted to bet me - I'm betting they lose and everyone agreed. We are all going from past history of course and this fine joke is making the rounds up here again.

Q: What's the difference between MN pro sports teams and porn stars.
A: Porn stars don't choke on the big one!

Silverghost, I think you've no reason feel bad about Owens going. I think he was more trouble than he's worth. Teams need people who redouble their efforts and commitment to team when the chips are down and they are frustrated. Owens is the opposite. When things get frustrating, Owens becomes a problem that makes things worse and tips the scales further against his team.

My sense is that Reid is a good coach. I'd dump Vick now (I think the man is rotten to the core, if not truly sick). His crimes are among the most unchangeable of all misdeeds observed in people. I have trouble picturing guys like that building real team character that can climb all the way to the top. Moss is another good example. When they were supposed to win it all and his addition in NE looked to be stacking an already loaded superbowl team, he was in good spirits. But they didn't make it. And look at some of his more recent behavior. When the going was tough this year and they were figuring out who they were going to be this season, Moss abdicated his team responsibilities, and became a net detractor again.

Owens and Moss are the biggest name receivers in the last decade. But no super bowl rings among them. When the mental going gets tough, guys like that just become negatives. Moss got closer, with a great and established team.

BTW, one important distinction. I'm not saying that boy scouts are the winning players in football. It's a different personality trait than that. It's only about their commitment to team versus ego. Some guys, say Ray Lewis for example, have hardly been a boy-scouts all their careers, and arguably have a lot of ego.

But this ego ends up manifesting itself in a way that makes everyone else work harder. I suspect the magic is probably in how hard the player himself plays in challenging or frustrating circumstances. The ones that rebel and turn on their teammates are the ones to avoid. The ones who reach down and pick up themselves and their teammates are the ones who win and make those around them better. I suspect Vick's historical successes have been based on his crazy ability, but not on such mental resilience motivating his teammates. Guys like that frequently are so far ahead that they make college teams win big. But the pros are just too balanced in most cases.

FWIW. All just my opinion. I'm a frustrated Redskins fan and a recently disappointed but proud Ravens fan.

Mike

P.S. Joel, that's hilarious. The horny purple helmets seem destined to end up like Buffalo. Of course, miracles do happen. Just ask Denver...

I can't believe the Eagles even hired Vick. It speaks volumes about the franchise. He isn't sorry a bit for what he did, he's just sorry he got caught. He won some sort of award that every teams gives for courage. I can't believe even his teamates would vote for him. He (Vick), said he had to put up with more greif than anyone else. I think one of the Eagle's brother died or something, and his brother had dedicated the season to him, yet nobody knows the trouble Vick endured. Please.

The way we hear it in Phila. the NFL was pushing to find Vick a new home. Roger Goddel (sp) was shopping Vick around.
Jeffrey Laurie the Eagle's owner was talked into taking Vick. Andy Reid had no say in the matter !
In fact both of Andy's sons are in jail on drug , battery, & gun charges !
They are no Boy Scouts !
It would appear that he NFL & it's owners will take anyone if they think they ,make big $$$ Bucks out of the daal?
Around here we call the NFL the National Felons League !
By the way~
Do you think Brett Farve will retire again after this season ???

I think Brett Farve will play until Brett Farve decides not to play again. He's having arguably the best year of his career.

Indy Saints today. BTW MC Never @ Philly will never take us to the Superbowl and win I predict he will take the Vikings to the dance next season and possibly win.Farve undoubtedly playing great but he is tired you can see it and he admits it. Vick is not a second string QB in his mind and took any deal he could to come back.He will be gone or 1st string. He is still a dirtbag can't even imagine how he looks in the mirror.

Can someone tell me why the show an instant replay of the 2nd Saints touchdown, which VERY CLEARLY shows that the runner's knees were both down, and the ball was short of crossing the goal line, and AFTER his knees were down, he stretched the ball across the goal line, and they allowed the touchdown?

What am I missing?

All the more reason to . . .

I just don't think as good as Drew Brees is, he's no Peyton Manning. Like Bum Phillips said about Earl Cambell, "If he ain't in a class by himself, it doesn't take long to call the role". :)
