Ummmm, this one is a little different, but I kinda dig it. What I really like is the 350 combined with what is hanging off the back (look close). There aren't any engine pics, but if all checks out there, I believe this guy did it up right. And this is coming from an 'all original' guy!

Oh yeah, not mine.

Thank you, I would like to think I did it right. This was mine pre-Bling. I did the engine/outdrive, "Ferrari" engine hood and hot foot pedal. I raised the X dimension a bit and it gps'd @ 78. the only drawback was you could only get about 3 bumps on the trim.
I have no idea on the condition as I have not seen the boat in 10 years.

Vonkamp,

Interested in learning more about the performance you were able to get out of your old setup including prop selection and bumps on the trim.

Here is some information on my boat;
1972 18 2+3 hull
1999 Volvo Penta 5.7 GSi 310 HP
4" thru -hull exhaust (no mufflers)
Volvo Penta SX Drive 1.45:1
21"PLUS RAKER SS (14¾ x 23) LH

Following off boat gauges only:
WOT RPM 4600-4700
TOP SPEED 54-55 MPH (moderate trim)
Custom 40 gal fuel tank
New (to me) engine was installed at 14 5/8" X-dim.
The previous owner took out the old 270 because he was rebuilding the transom and wanted power trim. He installed the 5.7 GSI EFI with the SX. Also told me the x-dim was 14 5/8" and switched the SX to left hand prop and was getting about 70 - 72 mph at max tilt and 4900 RPM. I am very happy with this boat and like the power trim and power steering however I am not seeing anywhere near the performance you described.
I realize every boat is slightly different and seat time is an important part of learning to drive and operate better as well as improving ability to drive faster and safer as well.

Bob,
I just had to compliment you on that photo as being the best picture combo i've seen in a long time, and being a one time owner of a 66' goat and always wanted a 65' like yours I had to say WoW!
Way to Go Bro!

Yeah. Did you ever put a hitch on that thing?
