Was there a price or any details?

LE's are the only ones I ever saw with a black painted dash panel surrounding the actual panels so I'm very confident it is an LE based on that and a few other clues.

It looks like it needs a good bit of work though.

I sent the guy an e-mail yesterday, said he was listing it for a friend and thats why the phone number was listed. Definitely a blower sitting atop that motor -- took me a few minutes to realize it.

well that's scary, 'cause it don't look all that good to start with!

Of course, it all depends on the price, doesn't it?

I've done this and can say if you get the boat for free you won't get what you put into it out of it. You can make it your 'own' boat though, which would be nice. That's what I did because I wasn't going to sell my boat. :bonk:

I have been holding back, I would be worried about having to redo the engine as I bet they just slapped a blower on a stock bottom. The trailer is quite sub standard for any distance, the drive is probably just hanging on waiting to as Walt would say turn into Alpha Bits! The hull is probably solid, to me it looks like $6,500 max with some caveat, but I am not running to the telephone either!

Oh' fizzle sticks!
I didn't even pick up a visual on that either.......:bonk:

But I bet with some heavy duty maintenance and some wet color sanding to the hull someone could turn this hunk of coal into a gem and make a few tax free enjoyable dollars, if I wasn't on the opposite coast I would be seriously considering making some garage/shop room.
Hey I retired this past halloween and i'm just getting bored during these past few cold weeks we've been having...:wavey:

Thank You Bill,
Yes its been great up until this weather turned colder, but a few days before Christmas i've been experiencing a mild case of Cabin Fever due to boredom and its getting worse. Ugh!
But i'm not ready to go back and punch a time clock even part time until I can catch up on my own priorities first, cause being Retired is like having Everyday Off. WooHoo!
Of course with a 40% pay cut, but hey thats what I worked all my life for.

Sorry to temporally hi-jack the topic of this post, I will now return you to it..:shades:
Thanks Again,
Walt

Basically from what I can gather, the owner has had the boat for close to 20 years. He lives aprox 100 miles from water so it is not used much. He wanted more speed out of the stock motor so he traded the motor with a friend that had taken a blower motor out of another boat. So no info on the motor except that it has a super charger on it. It is running a 19" cleaver and of course is way too small for the motor. He also has a 21 cleaver but has not run it on the boat. He has run the boat once since it has had the motor replaced. I believe he said it has not been used in a few years. It is a Limited Edition and is #107 minx built. The original interior is there and says it is in good shape. It has one side of the windshield and the other was broken. I wish it was closer and less expensive. Would love the oportunity to clean & fix it up. Here are the pics I recieved. He would like to get $10,000 out of the boat. I know, but I am repeating what I was told. Hope it helps, Tom

Exactly my same thoughts but the price just might be with-in negotiation range just because what it is...........
I just wish it was with-in a one day drive to actually touch and check it...:wrench:

Why is it that for all of us the stuff we find attractive is always far over on the other coast? No matter where you live.

my emoticons sum up my opinion of a blatantly neglected boat in the middle of the desert, that hasn't been run in years, unknown drive condition, with a broken/incomplete windshield, destroyed gel, weathered instruments, weathered interior, on a trailer with sun rotted tires...

to each his own...

Anyone else that cannot open the images I submitted? I could down size them. I think they were around 120 to 140k for each. I am going to send them to you Bill and if anyone else cannot see them, let me know. Tom

Not only is the boat in the desert, it is apparently currently residing in a junkyard. Blessings on anyone that pays $5,000 much less $10,000 for this diamond in the rough. Definitely a project boat that would take some TLC, but could be very nice eventually. :kingme:

Looks like the upper portion of the stern drive has been replaced since the paint of the lower half and the transom shield is a match and the upper isn't, so at least that area in question of condition earlier mentioned most likely might be ok at this time.:crossfing:...

Came with a 23" wheel, I bet the upper was grenaded from way to much RPM. I go along with under 5K!!!

NJFASTECH
01-13-2010, 05:20 PM
At 5 K this still has to be a labor of love because there is no way to give what this boat needs to make her whole again and it be worth more than you have into it. But that is the joy in long term ownership spend a little when you can and enjoy the ride in the end.

But Walt, having seen what you have done with Shadow Girl, you could turn this boat into a true gem; better than new!

All it would take is a HUGE pile of money, and all of your free time for the next year. And another addition to your garage.

And you would love every second of it!

Yeah Bill thanks,
I have the spare time so one outta three ain't bad, but like I mentioned earlier its way over on the left coast from us....... Other wise i'd be looking under the couch cushions for loose change maybe?
