I am running a little bigger one a 383, mine was setup to be on the mild side it will run 65.5 on a good day. I did a fair amount of transferring weight aft so mine sits in the water similar to a BB, the weight being moved back did away with the porpoising I had before and I believe helped with top end. There was another 383 22 awhile back that did 76, the fellow wanted to go a different direction pulled it out and sold it here on the board, not sure what it ended up in. http://www.donzi.net/forums/showthread.php?t=47648&highlight=383

Thanks for your response. Was not sure how weight and balance may apply, especially if I raise or lower the combo. I am thinking of using a 2 or 3 speed gearbox... with maybe an arenson drive. Weight would be similar but redistributed fore vs aft. Just doing some thought and design right now. Thanks again.
