4.3 Vortec prop

I know this has been beat to death and i did a search but my question is I have a 4.3 Vortec with and alpha drive 2barrel on a 1999 16 and a 23p mirage prop and Im getting around 4400 wot but have been told this motor should run up to 5000 should i look into a new prop thanks for any input merry christmas

44-4600 is plenty..

Do you know the gear ratio of your drive, I am guessing 1:61. If you feel the engine is up to snuff you could drop down to a 21 that should give you 4,800 and maybe a tad more speed.

Thanks for all the input Im sure Im just dreaming what I intend to do is a 350 swap when i find the time to really make it move .
