ya its a 454/ with a stroked scat crank bored 70 over "498ci" full roller comp cam, performance exhaust, 750 demon it made 540 hp and 602 lbs of torque from 3000-6000 rpm on the dyno built by precision valve and crank out of north vancouver bc hooked up to a casale vdrive 12% over drive 15" prop not sure exactly how fast its going here but its over 70 mph!! the boat has soo much power if u let off the gas and punch it u will lift the hull out of the water!!!! This boat runs in the water off of west vancouver B.C.

"Donzi Yoga" I love it! What a perfect description.

Very sweet running boat. Would love to see any pictures you might have of it.

What kind of rpms were you running in that fly by (I'm guessing it was WOT)?

thanx I'll try to get some more shots of the boat online soon the interior, motor,ect..I figure it was around 5700 5800 rpm in that pass I have had her up to 6000 for a short few moments when i find a perfect glass calm stretch.its not like most you cant just hammer down and see what rpms you can reach its more having the stones to keep the peddle down!never gets borring

I am willing to bet upping the props pitch will not only improve speed but definitely extend the life of the upper gear case, these drives do not like being above 5,000.

I thought this was a V-Drive.

Did I say I was awake!!!!!! It is a V drive LOL

I still say getting the RPM down into the torque range will give more speed!

yes its a v drive 12% overdrive the prop is a 11.5 inch 15 pitch supper cup the props this style stop at 16 I would like to try one I think I'm close but beyond that its back to changing gear ratios as far as I understand?. this was a new prop for last season before this I tried a ski boat style 13 15 not good

torque peaked at 6000 rpm at 598 on dyno and over 500 @ 2500rpm and up starts to taper off after 6000rpm its 550 at 6500

what rpm did the TQ number cross the HP number?

DAN O
01-26-2010, 02:16 PM
ok got the dyno sheet in front of me now so the max tq came in at 598 @ 4200 and the max hp540 was @5500 starting at 3000rpm tq at 564 climbs up to 598@4100rpm holds until 4400 starts to drop 595tq 498.3 hp@4500---579tq 518hp@4700---559tq 532hp@5000 at 5300rpm 532tq and 537hp. at 6000 rpm 450tq and 512hp we did 10 runs on dyno numbers vary a little these are from the best pull

sorry for the first incorrect numbers wont happen again .what rpm range is best?what gear ratio and prop should I try next?I can go to a 16 supper cup but it would only shave off around 200 rpm.you think this would do?also wonder if the load on v drive would get too great running the max pitch. I'm thinking maybe up in gears and down in prop????not really sure
