Pretty interesting.

Funny thing about the implications for education, which the video touches on a little. The same fundamentals (reading, writing, math, logic, physics, chemistry) are needed, regardless of the sorts of rapid advances in technology the video mentions. Yet, we continue to see declines in performance on these, with simultaneous attempts to speed up and grow curricula.

Put another way, where some see a great struggle to "keep education up" with all this, a little analysis makes clear that the real implication is that education mostly needs to improve in core, important areas. It CANNOT keep up with the leading edge of this, but it need not even try. The core skills needed for wherever this leads are the same as they ever were.

In other words, (and something I've said for a long time) school doesn't teach you to do a job, it teaches you to LEARN to do a job.
