Needed It's own thread

Have you seen the Malibu corvette wake board boat? It actually has power windows on the driver and passenger side!:convertib::bonk:

I have seen one in real life and the pictures are better then the boat, in mt opinion. that Corvette version was short lived.

I've seen one too at the local Malibu dealer. Pretty goofy looking, especially the tail lights.

the Sweetish disigned concept of a 63 Corvette style boat:hijack:

The name Malibu Corvette Limited Sport-V always suggested that this Malibu boat wouldn’t be available forever.

• Get a Free Quote (http://autos.vetteweb.com/?ta=blogs)• Find a Local Dealer (http://autos.vetteweb.com/?ta=blogs)That time has come. The last Corvette boat has motored off the assembly line and this storied production run is officially over. Nearly two years and 50 boats later, the Malibu Corvette Limited Sport-V has earned the awards and World-renown recognition befitting a cultural icon. And while a few production Corvette boats are available at select Malibu Boats dealerships, most of these boats have found homes. Those owners have their rare piece of Americana as well as the satisfaction that comes with obtaining a true collectors item.

Produced from December 2007 through November 2009, the Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V was the fastest production towboat ever created. The Corvette truly embodied Malibu Boats “Pushing Limits” mantra. The 505hp Corvette LS7 came standard in the Z06 Edition Malibu Corvette pushed the success of this Malibu boat even further. But this innovative performance machine is more than power (http://blogs.vetteweb.com/6582904/corvette-news/malibu-boats-corvette-limited-edition-sport-v-reaches-end-of-line/index.html#) and speed.

Dubbed, “the Corvette that runs on water,” this Malibu boat is truly a Corvette. It was not just styled after the C6 Corvette. Every part of this vessel screams Corvette. The Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V was the epitome of Corvette Americana with a long list of powerfully innovative features. A Patented Power Wing Windshield, authentic Corvette high-back seats, an 8-speaker Malibu-Rockford Fosgate Stereo System, rear vents styled after the Corvette taillights and designed (http://blogs.vetteweb.com/6582904/corvette-news/malibu-boats-corvette-limited-edition-sport-v-reaches-end-of-line/index.html#) for through-hull ventilation, the signature Corvette “Cove” and a hood modeled after the car, which opened to reveal a specific storage center and the core of the stereo system.

While in production the Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V earned Trailers Boats Magazine’s Excellence in Design (http://blogs.vetteweb.com/6582904/corvette-news/malibu-boats-corvette-limited-edition-sport-v-reaches-end-of-line/index.html#) Award as well as the attention of automotive and marine media around the world. This boat was not some hokey adaptation, the Malibu Corvette Boat was a real Corvette and the amazing reaction it received befitted such a boat.

While the acclaimed Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V is no longer being built, there are a small number of Malibu Boats Dealerships who have a Malibu Vet on display. If you never experienced the Malibu Corvette Boat in person stop by and take a look at this performance water sports machine up close and personal. Or drop by one of the Malibu Boats Factories to witness the Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V each plant has. You’ve got to see it to believe it. I thought it was styled after the C4 Corvette ('84-96).

We saw one of these in 07 at a small Phila area boatshow.
I thought it was interesting as I am a Corvette owner & Vette Nut .
It was very well done.
The boat was very small~
Not much interior space.
The Vette powerplant was fantastic : and marined by Indmar.

Ski Nautique had a Pleasure Craft PCM Ford GT 40 engined "Special Edition"
This with the famous GT 40 heads.

Toyota also built ski-boats for a short time.
Yes TOYOTA !
They wanted to break-into the US boat market.
Their big selling point was the fact that you could tow your Toyota ski-boat to any Toyota dealer for service.
It used a Toyota/Lexus engine without emissions, higher compression,& marine cam.
They dropped the idea later when they could not get th production numbers they wanted. The boats were nice but expensive! They could not compete with the half dozen or so ski-boat builders.
Toyota had a skiboat displayed earlier at this show also.

And at this same show Mastercraft had a special boat displayed with the FWC Cadillac Northstar V8 marined by Indmar ( builder of inboard ski-boat engines)
Interesting marine engine.
I don't think many Northstar powered Mastercrafts were ever built; and I hate to think about trying to get manifolds for these today.
Re: Indmar
I have an Indmar BB Chevy ski-boat engine in my 24' American Skier Super Eagle, About 10 were built ; and I can no longer find the special narrow width cast_Iron manifolds & long low swooping 4" outlet risers.
Part # IND-53-1019 & 53-1020
Indmar does not support their customer's older engines very well at all Manifolds & risers are no longer supplied by Indmar.
Aftermarket suppliers like OSCO & Barr also do not supply them !
If anyone knows where I can find these Indmar manifolds & risers please let me know!

Do you think you could make an adapter plate or weld up and re configure the bolt holes on a set of after market header and riser? Or is the porting different that they wouldn't line up with the head?

OK, is the "Sweetish" one real or photoshop? I like it except for the swim platform. Maybe lose the taillights, move the engine back to a sterndrive configuration and make more of the roof removable.......:pizza:.....

Over the last 10 years or so many Skiboat builders have put out very low-production "Special Limited Editions" similar to the Donzi Blackhawk, or Shelby Editions.
Most have used special low production engines along with special graphics etc.
I suspect most were built for Boatshow & dealer showroom displays designed to get the customer's attention.
Malibu only built 50 "Special Corvette Limited Editions" ! They were expensive compared to a standard Malibu SkiBoat.

The "Special Limited Editions"I mentioned above are just a few examples. of the many produced over the years.
My 24' American Skier Super Eagle was such a boat. Only 9-10 built !
I did not know it at the time, but the engine marine parts are a real problem to find when you need to replace them.
For example my cast-iron 454 header style free flowing 4" ski-boat style manifolds are of special design. They hug the cylinder head tightly with only a 1/4" to the rocker covers. The flange gasket between the riser & manifold is 7" long X 3 1/2" wide. The 4" outlet risers sweep way
down into the bilge area for the 4" exhaust hoses to run under the floor deck.
This package is designed to hug the engine very closely so that a fairly small center motorbox can be used to take-up less floor space .
They are no longer available from Indmar !
I do most of my boating in salt water. My basic engine is fresh water cooled with a big 4 pass heat exchanger with 50/50 antifreeze in the engine.
The manifolds & risers are raw sea water cooled.
In my case this means salt water cooled.
The cast-iron manifolds only last 5-6 years in salt water use.
Now I can no longer buy them !
A real pain in the neck !
Any ideas as to what I can use for exhaust now?
Here are a few shot of my "Super Eagle" along with my Chevy 454 SS truck (another Special Limited Edition)
I am a sucker for Big Blocks & "Special Limited Editions" it seems.
