View Full Version : Polls Mean Anything?

First we lost the Donzi Girls section because a few complained that it was over the top.
Rather than fix it, it was thrown away with no vote.

Then we lost the games section that was popular and had some interest.

Then we lost the Casino section for no reason and that generated many visits and hits to this site.

Then we lost half the original loyal members who could not resolve their problems here.

Then we were told we could not post other Donzis for sale that were not ours, only to have that overturned with more thought.

Politics has always been a part of this site and a poll was taken to see if membership wanted a separate forum for our speech.
The majority was in favor of this and it was approved.

This site and all others on the web gets ad revenue based on visits and hits and time spent here.
This sites' value, should it be sold, is based on popularity.
All of these changes are moving this site down in visits, popularity and VALUE.

The loyal members on this site should count for something and throwing sections away with no voice of the membership is short sighted
arbitrary and does not contribute to good will.

This should not be "The Wizard of Oz" in decision making.
We should have a voice here.
After all what is a poll for if it means nothing?

I guess the answer is;
This isn't a democracy because the site belongs to Scot.

The last I heard, the girls were still available if you asked for the location.

Scot rescinded the boat posting rule.

I think the games and casino may come back given time and a new version of the software.

What can you say about the politics? Read the first response.

Charles, This is a forum where I make the calls based on inputs from others. I am the one who has to field all the calls, complaints, and threats of users going elswhere. No else gets these calls or email. I provide a service to who ever wants to play here. Unfortunately I also piss people off trying to walk the fence and make the most amount of people happy.

The casino should be up. I must of broken it. All you have to do ask me where it went and I would have known sooner.

The Donzi Girls section was taken down because Donzi Marine suggested I take it down because they were referring family buyers to the site and they did not think it was appropriate. Later I put it back up because so many people wanted it. Then it languished for 8 months with only 1-2 people posting. It died because no one was posting. No was more sad than me to see it go.

As for loyal members, they are those that stick with things through thick and thin. They don't take their ball and all their friends and play elsewhere when they don't get their way. This site constantly changes and evolves.

If you want to talk about politics go to "getoutthepopcorn.org"

Its a site I set up for those of you who want to talk about politics.

I don't know why folks don't call me. My phone number is not a secret.

Scot-- I have called you, (it was during the take your ball and run time)although I know you are talking macro vs micro- you meant in the bigger picture.
I think-- although I could be wrong, that the guys talking the politics LIKED talking to the guys on this site-- not popcorn or any other politic sites. Guys like me like to converse with people of similar interests-- we belong to a club and in this case it is a club of people who love Donzis and the site you created.
I feel bad that you have had to field so much regarding this, but I also think you have a site for a group of people who want to talk to others in the group-- I have no interest in talking with someone I do not know even vaguely. I want to talk to people that I can also go to when I have a prolblem- and from what I can see from this wonderful site is that I could ask for all kinds of help -- because these people care about the others on the site- personally, and I like that.
thank you for all you do -- perhaps the ones that enjoyed the politics should have stepped up me included, and policed ourselves a little.

the one thing I can say is, with all of the differing views, I never felt anything personal. I can see how some could-- we should have policed this.
Don't feel bad about anything else. $hit happens and you have tried to do your best-- for me, I would like to talk to my Donzi friends about anything I have on my mind cause they are like me and they like Donzis.

Scot actually called ME a while back. That's when I pointed out a bad thread and we had a good talk. I actually volunteered to help moderate this site and Scot jokingly asked if I'd do the politics section and I was like no way Jose!! Anyway scot has asked that we not discuss it so I will say no more about that. Scot, I'm sure some folks will drift back and I have not left. This is a hard time for you and right at Christmas too. Everyone should help moderate themselves at this time and give Scotty a break! Merry Christmas, Scot. :)

Thanks for the kind words folks. It reached a point in the last few years where I did not want to come to this site because of what would be waiting for me. It was just not fun having to deal with complaints every fraking day!

One example of this was when I tried to make politics and this section invisible to only those who wanted it. I had a problem with it and was instantly accused of censorship! It seems like I could not catch a break.

I have had folks contact me about helping to moderate and I will follow through with it after the holidays. I appreciate you guys stepping up.

I hope everyone's holiday season is full of love, fun, and family.

Love you guys. Scot

Scot has been kind enough to provide a separate site to discuss current affairs. Perhaps we should give it a shot. If we all sign on it will still be those of us that enjoy discussing issues with each other. Those that don't like it will have no reason to further heap further abuse on Scot.
