We so quickly forget it was only a few decades ago that a few regions still weren't electrified.
I recall that in the late '40's my grandmother lived on an 80 acre farm (that's an eigth of a section for those who don't know) in North Central Louisiana where there still weren't any paved highways as late as 1950.
Anyway, until electricity arrived in '52 or so, she had an outhouse, and yes, it was a two holer!
I don't think any of the adults used it that way, but I used it in conjunction w/a few cousins more than once.
After all, I was only four or five years old.

Our house was built in the 1850's, and yes we have a two holer (modern plumbing in the house):toiletpap:)
