What is the function of the exhaust turbulator. It appears to me to be restrictive. Has anyone taken these off on a 496 and noticed any appreciable performance gains?

Leave them in,their their for reversion, they catch the water droplets besides the hole is the same size as the exhaust coming out of the riser.

As the manifolds cool condensation forms and runs down, the up turn lip of the turbulator catches the moisture and protects the engine. There have been many discussions, it was stated during one the the plate takes away no power.

8hp, not worth the moisture issues. Not at all.

Word! And like Pismo said, it is not worth it. Rusty engine for 0.3 mph or something like that.
