I figured by now a few of you might be wondering if I had made any progress on the '76 St. Tropez... Never thought that the project would take as long as it has... Guess something called working to make enough to buy the new parts slows the progress some.... Attached are some photos of the new heart going into the St T. It is still a Ford 302 . I still have a couple more items to put on the engine before she will be ready to test run.

The projected splash date is targeted for the end of April...

I was amazed that the original paint buffed out as well as it did.. Still looks pretty good.

If anyone has a good source for finding a new Marine Holley 650 cfm carb with the dual fuel input ,,, please let me know.....

mine are single inlet 650's, #80552

they don't make a dual inlet 650

they do make a dual inlet 600 however, #80559

the #80364 is a single inlet 600 spcifically set up for 302 Fords..

Buizilla, the only numbers I have on the carb are as follows : 12R 10554B what that translates to in CFM's , i'm not sure ... I was under the impression that it was a 650... After doing a search, it turns out that this is a 750 double pumper...

For performance and fuel economy , I would imagine that the 650 would be adequate.

Would value any other inputs on this from the more knowledgeable ones.......

IMO think a 650 is a bit much on a 302, 550 will give better low and mid range with very little if any loss at WOT also better overall economy.

I had some friends that used to build race motors back in the seventies. They used to paint all their engines yellow. Know why?..........Easy to see leaks. Functional as well as bright.
