I am looking hard at moving up to a 38+ something.

This boat can be bought a number of ways. I can sell it with the 850 hp engine, have it detuned to around 600hp NA (and yes, it will be dynoed), or put in a 502 or HP 500.

The price? I am still working on that. I don't want to give the 850 away but I know I can't get anywhere near what I have in it. The 850 has about 50 hours on it. Detuned it would be bullet proof.

Options include IMCO twin ram full hydraulic steering, custom carbon fiber dash, new carpet, Bravo XR Upper with Imco Lower, billet top cap, powder coated controls, gaffrig gauges, Lowrance GPS custom mounted in the dash, Gaffrig GPS speedo, lots of billet goodies, aluminum Float-On Trailer with new disc brakes, 280 K planes, mechanical indicators for both drive and planes, custom high flow fuel system. All the rigging was done professionally by Young Performance Marine.

E mail me for pics. There are a bunch posted on the site so I can't repost them.

I am currently at the "figuring it out" phase but thought I would post it up here to see if anyone is interested in the whole package. If you want to see how it runs, look at the Chattanooga Poker Run vid and you will see it screaming by at the end of the video. This boat is built and dialed in to be a runner. It is a blast to go out and absolutely humiliate a bunch of big twin engine boats. Facial expressions are priceless when you pass them like they are tied to the dock.

If I don't get much interest here, I will probably pull out the 850 and aggressively advertise it.

Drop me a pm if you want to talk.

Oh wow. Didn't see that coming, but cool stuff on the 38!

I can personally attest to the testicular fortitude of this 26zx. I've ridden on it and driven it. Turns smoothly at 60mph, all the while having a conversation. OR one can bump it up and move right along...nice and quick!

Good luck with the sale, Bill.

Yeah. I was told it could stay but one more boat and I might lose it!

Hedge, Just out of curiosity, are you going to direct your new toy search at Donzi's only? I know that you will look at everything available, but in the end will it have to have Donzi on the side to be considered in the final decision. Just wondering since you seemed to be a diehard with the 26zx.

No, I will look at quite a few options. I did the same when I did the 26ZX. I looked at quite a few other boats but the 26 won in the end. I will always have a boat with Donzi on the side but may very well do something else in the big boat category.

I want something around 38 feet or more in a v hull with a full cabin. I am leaning toward #6's but will consider a bravo boat if I can push it to around 100 without stressing the drives too hard.

My 26 is a blast to drive. I want my big boat to be as fun.

I did sample a beak boat today. A 42 Lightning with #6's and 700's. It ran smartly to 105. I was impressed. Going through the whole learning process. I would like to try a 38ZR with a similar package.

I am not totally sold on the whole large boat idea yet but I am pretty serious.

I was knocking around the 38 with big Bravo's idea. A number of folks have told me that it will take a good bit of smash to replace the buzz of driving the ZX so that is why I am leaning toward a #6 or NXT package.

So far I seem to like something that is at least a 38 with the expensive drives. I want a full cabin, good ride and moderate speed. I will want a real head and probably A/C.

Hey Bill,
I was also surprised at your new direction. Here is one to consider that has quite a few of your parameters. Take care, Bill

Hmm, take 525 out and put it in the 26 to sell. Sell other 525. Build another 850. Two 850's ought to make it move pretty good.

I am kind of surprised too. I guess that I always need something going on.

On the other hand, I just ran across a deal on a HUGE 48' aft cabin. Think 3 staterooms, washer drier, spiral staircase going up to the upper party deck.....This boat is rediculously huge. If I do it, I will need to keep something fast.

Decision, decisions. One thing is certain. I will probably do something.

Here's the way I see it. You have a lovely home in middle Tennessee with excellent boating, and a condo on the water in Chattanooga with Roller Girl. Seems to me that you need a condo on the water in Knoxville as well. I know somebody who will take real good care of the 48 aft cabin while you're away...hehe. I'm just sayin...

I am going to hold off selling it for now. Got a new development that may be more fun for all.

You better not sell yours. You probably will not be allowed to buy another performance boat with Esperanza on the scene! :bonk:
