hey I am looking at putting a penta 270 on the back of my donzi 16 only catch is this one has the 1.89 ratio in it. is this doable if I just prop it a little more and if so what size prop would I want. this is a 302 in the boat

yes with props you should be ok, but also check manually what ratio you have as the ratio is made up in the lower so what the top of the drive says might not be what it says it is. don't let this sway you on the boat the drive is the easy end if it is what you want go for it

ok well I got the drive for a good deal and it came with EVERYTHING. so now the question is with a 302 and a 1.89 ratio what prop should I be looking at

I guess as usual you are right there is a massive shortage of volvo parts and prices have gone thru the roof i was going to recomend scrapping the 270 and go for the 10k 290 duo prop but hey sometimes you just have to make due

hey for what I got this for I couldn't say no, plus I got the transom and the whole works with it and what looks to be a 21p RH prop.

Right hand prop? Where do you sit in your Ford/Volvo 16'?

this is a left hand drive 16, this is just the prop that came with the drive. I also has a 15x22p LH stailess prop

Sitting on the left would help counter balance the twist of a L/H prop. Using a R/H prop might heel the boat over a bit much.

guess I am in the market for a LH prop then. or I can have a fat friend sit on the right side of the boat

I sell the left and right hand Solas props for that lower unit or just switch the shifter around.
