Just curious as to how everybody stores their boat, I "just" managed to get it in the garage........at least there it remains dry and warm........I will not "winterize" it until Dec. you never know, we might get a day or two of sunshine...:wink:

We down sized from a house with a 6 car attached garage plus a detached 2 car garage last summer-- never had any clue just how much "stuff" we had-- now my 22c sits in a heated and finished pole barn with all our snowmobiles, 4 wheelers, etc.etc. Pretty tight fit. but at least it is heated and I have direct tv out there and my fridge so I can go out and have a beer and clean-polish -fart around.
Can't get anything else out without major work- God I miss the big garage!!!
I won't tell you about the 2 car attached garage-- it is worse--- 30-40 degree slope from the road, only twenty feet long, had two cars slide through the garage doors last winter:bonk:

You forgot one option. Mine is in an unheated garage where it gets plenty cold but stays dry. I can't vote:nilly:.

Well covered and very well ventilated, I would love to have an inside place could tinker over the winter.

All buttoned up on a Hydrohoist for the ZX. The X-18 and Jet ski get an insulated and enclosed storage building. The Whaler is getting a covered storage shed.

Roller Girl has a bilge heater and lives in a covered slip. She gets used all winter long.

Store her in a rented storage building and when it gets really cold I put some lights in the engine compartment. Vary rarely have to put he lights on here.

Mine will be delivered Saturday to a big old unheated ex-chicken coop.

Cement floor, so I put a couple 4' long 2 x 12's under the tires, thinking that may hinder moisture from aging the tires prematurely.
It hibernates with three covers; cockpit, full, then a final layer of visqueen to keep the cat tracks off the sunbrella.
Old school rural pricing, at $150 total for a 7 month winter season!

House is built on a hill with one end of the basement at ground level with an overhead door. The basement inside height is 12'. I just back the boat right into the basement.

Hanging in the boathouse.

I was going to build a pole barn so I can fuss over the winter, but I have decided not to pay any more taxes than I have to.

If more of you guys had dollies, more of you could get your boats inside........

It may just be an idea whose time has come.

George has the secret.

I keep mine in the basement, which is heated. Dehumidifier also runs around the clock, to keep things as dry as Arizona summers.

I also squeezed in a friend's '72 Glastron 16' CV-SS, as well as a Rupp Centaur Trike.

Thanks to the dollies.:shades:

I'll snap some pics this weekend.

Mine stays in a drystack all year round, huge unheated shed and gets lifted in and out the water via a forklift.

In a garage, unheated, uncovered, with all hatches open/removed, cushions on edge, box fan on low into engine bay for a week. Dryness a priority.

Good suggestions. I might bring my cushions indoors this year. Even my unheated garage stops the condensation that occurs outside. The boat stays dry. I throw a loose cover on it just to keep it clean. Maybe I should just cover the bow?

Yep, high of only 79 yesterday.:kingme:
Do you think I need to winterize?
The Florida panhandle does get colder than most of the state. We get a few freezes, but only for a few hours. Not long enough to freeze engine blocks.
But when its 40 degees here, the dampness and wind causes one hell of a chill factor!

I have decided it is going to get cleaned in the spring regardless how dirty it is so I leave it uncovered.

Mine will be delivered Saturday to a big old unheated ex-chicken coop.Same as Tony for the winter. Condensation isn't a problem. I stored my AMX there for 5110 days in a row without a hint of mold or mildew. From spring to fall the boat stays under a portable canopy.

Someday......someday......I'm going to have a big enough garage. Hopefully, I still have a boat when that time comes.
