merCruiser 496HO Manifolds/Risers - Excellent Cond

One complete set of 496HO manifolds and riser tailpipes, I believe the manifolds are part #866178T01, retailing for $572.25 each, and the tails are part #865331A02, retailing for $651.07, making the complete set have a new cost of $2,446.64.

The set that I have looks like new and I would love to sell it. I'm asking $1,200.00 including shipping within the continental US.

From everything I've read, Merc only offered the 496 exhaust with aluminum manifolds and stainless risers. "The exhaust manifolds are double-EDP-and ceramic-coated aluminum, and the risers are 316 stainless steel tube with dry joint elbows." I do not see any rust anywhere on any of the components to indicate that the manifolds are made of cast iron.

I'll double check again today - but based upon memory of weight and also the fact that there is no rust, and in the ever so slight spots where the paint has chipped away there is white residue that appears to be surface corrosion, I would tend to think that they are aluminum.

Stopped by my shop earlier today. They are definitely aluminum. I also spoke to Rocky at merCruiser who informed me that from the first 496 through 2008 all of the manifolds were aluminum and the risers stainless. It was in '08 some time that they changed to a cast iron manifold and cast iron riser. Any interest in this set?
