Just Googled Ford small block engines and found some big block engines direct from Ford.
Excuse my ignorance, but I really didn't know Ford still offered these.
I have to assume they're 460 based??????

http://www.fordracingparts.com/crateengine/main.asp (http://www.fordracingparts.com/crateengine/main.asp)

Anyway, 521 Cu In and 609 hp.
I know they're not marine engines but they're still interesting.

We had a Galaxie station wagon that dad ordered with a 390 engine in it. The valve covers said "Thunderbird" on them. Mom was not happy when dad took it to the drags once. :)

That's awesome! Anybody can build a Chevelle or other cookie-cutter GM. Even a Mustang. But a SOHC powered Galaxie takes style!

I also note it has a current plate...

I have a question?????????
The link in my post # 1 says the shipping weighy is 715#.
Assumin that shipping materials is 30-50#, and that it needs accessories, so add the 50# back in.
That brings you back to the original 715#.
What does a BBC weigh w/accessories, but minus manifolds?

Thanks for the link Ken, I have a friend that has a afx comet and a light
weight Galaxie. I bought a pair of Highriser heads from him that
have never been out of the ford box. I am going to build a R code
63.1/2 or 64 hopefully next year. I love those cars they have a ton
of room for the kids!!
