The throttle on the 2003 18C I purchased nearly 2 months ago works fine but I imagine there are replacement throttles that have a nicer feel to them. Please advise as to whether the stock Mercruiser supplied throttle is well regarded or if an upgrade is considered something beneficial. I've got 14 and 16 year old sons that do a lot of skiing and wakeboarding and the throttle gets a lot of use. Recommendations are welcome. Thanks!

I have heard good things about the Dana throttle.

I use the Livorsi on my X-18 and would also recommend it as an upgrade from stock.

I just ran my first rally with the new shifter. Huge improvement over the old Merc stuff as you can actually throttle the boat now, which helps in rough conditions.
