Volvo 270 Drive

Folks,

Help me out here:

I am very seriously looking at a 1973 16'

Boat has a Volvo 270 Drive & and is powered by a 350 chev. pushing some 385+ HP.

I know the boat is over-powered...my question is more will the drive take the the power over the long run if well cared for. For the most part I stay off the gas and not push it to much.

Interested in all of your thoughts on this topic.

welcome Kirk,

the volvo will be fine, but you might want to start some curls with your right arm! I have a 16 with a 351w I don't think it's pushing 385hp but it's around 300 and it can be a handful at times,but for the most part it is a blast to drive
