Can the old Volvo 270-280 splined prop shaft be converted to the much more common Mercruiser style shaft for more prop choices?
Years ago I beleve someone was selling an aftermarket replacement shaft to do just this?
I saw one on a boat ten years ago in South Jersey.
I doubt it was a custom machined shaft~
But you never know !
Can these be found anywhere today?
I have never seen these lately!
I thought since I was going to tear down the old Volvo 270 for an inspection and new seal kit I might as well swap-out the old shaft ! ?

I heard that they are hard to keep straight in real life use.

I gave one to F_inscreenname here a while back. Don't know if he ever did anything with it but you might check with him.
